Coupon Cabin Advertises with Sky Writing [Updated]

On Wednesday around 1:40pm, letters started appearing over downtown Chicago. Coupon Cabin has made it clear that if you need to send a message, write it big!

Five planes flew across the sky, writing a few phrases advertising the venture. Coupon Cabin is possibly one of the biggest competitors against Groupon, the famous Chicago start-up known for revolutionizing online coupons.

How much time and effort went into writing these letters? No one knows, but with the temperature nearing 90°F this afternoon, Chicago was bustling with pedestrians. Among them, the bloggers here at Branding Chicago were impressed.

The photo was taken at Lake and Michigan.

According to AdWeek, the commercials were criticized by some viewers, who complained that the voice work was racially stereotypical. Do you think the voices in the commercials are just stereotypical… or in bad taste?

From Etching to Rainbow

Apple is undoubtedly one of the most significant companies of our time as its products, ranging from the iPhone to MacBook Air, have changed the phone, music, and computer industries forever. Let's also not forget the hardware and software, all created by Apple, that render the company's product line and services seamless. But, where did this evolution all begin?

One way to study the history of Apple Computer, Inc. is to look at the story of it's logo. How did a company with an etching of Issac Newton as its identity turn into one of the most successful brands in the world? When you look at these three logos, do you feel they represent three chapters in the company's history? What are your thoughts?
